I started by learning to see people. Drawing portraits and figure studies teaches you to really look. At light, at proportion, at what makes someone themselves. I didn't realize until later that design asks the exact same thing.

Portraits and figure studies.

I studied illustration for a year before switching to CS and I never stopped drawing. Portraits taught me that the most interesting thing about any subject is what makes them feel alive.

That question follows me into every design I make.
